Wax moulages are replicas of the body's surface made from a plaster cast. The three-dimensional wax moulages of skin diseases produced in Zurich from 1918 onwards are among the best preserved in the world and remind us with touching authenticity of the patients depicted and their suffering. They were originally produced for teaching at university clinics and today, thanks to their exceptionally good quality, they are once again an important supplement to theoretical teaching. In the museum, even the interested layman can quickly get a picture of the most diverse diseases of the skin. The exhibition also shows historically significant three-dimensional research documents from the dermatological and surgical clinic.
