The Urania Observatory, which is over 100 years old, is a landmark of the city of Zurich. In the approximately 50-metre-high tower in the middle of the city of Zurich, you can enjoy the view over the city and into the sky. Learn amazing facts about the universe on a guided tour. When visibility is good, observations are made with the telescope. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are public tours, in summer starting at 9 pm, in winter at 8 pm. On the first Saturday of the month there are special children's tours at 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm. School and private tours are available on request.
A lift leads up to one floor below the observatory. From there, it is about 25 more steps up to the dome. For your own observations through the telescope, you also need to climb up onto a platform. Unfortunately, it is not possible to make the infrastructure wheelchair-accessible due to the observatory being a listed building.
