Madame Dodo Hug, the ‘Grande Dame’ of musical cabaret, is celebrating her 50th anniversary on stage with d o d o L o g i e with a BEST OF TOUR featuring her favourite songs and chansons. The programme features long-familiar favourites, current hits and sparkling new material. “The dodoesque lies in the detail,” a critic once remarked, and as always, Madâme moves elegantly, sensitively and wittily between the most diverse linguistic gardens and timbres, thus creating her unique world of song together with her fellow musicians. “From chansons & global folk to world music – from subtle humour to depth”, multilingual, timeless, soulful and of the highest quality – simply unclassifiable! Whether humorous, poetic, enlightening or playful: Dodo Hug moves you.
If you ask her about her life, she says with a smile: “My career is still very much ongoing!” “I have one foot in the past and live in the present with a direct, open gaze towards the future” (quote from the song “A muso duro” by Pierangelo Bertoli, 1980).
