Ulrich Tukur & The Rhythm Boys
As early as 1995, the renowned theatre, television and film actor Ulrich Tukur ( «John Rabe», «The Lives of Others», «Tatort») founded his dance band. What chaos, what a fantastic mess it was when the Rhythmus Boys first took to the concert stage and unleashed a storm of enthusiasm and utter confusion! None of the four could play their instruments properly, but wit, cultivated lack of discipline and outstanding looks made up for any musical shortcomings.
That has changed over the years. Nowadays, the gentlemen sing and play far better than they look; undisciplined chaos has given way to madness and cheerful disorder, and so an evening with the Rhythmus Boys resembles the final, tumultuous concert in a dilapidated variety theatre slated for demolition. Their new programme, TOHUWABOHU!, symbolises the long, successful journey that Ulrich Tukur & the Rhythmus Boys have undertaken, a journey that makes them unique in the history of popular music. What would life be without the weightless music of this quartet, which for almost a generation has known how to transform darkness into light, hardship into hope and sadness into high spirits? Anyone wishing to escape the chaos of the world should immerse themselves in the fantastic TOHUWABOHU!, which Europe’s finest dance band has put together especially for you.
