“She was born free and will die free,” they say of her: “Carmen.” with a full stop. Following “Phèdre!” with an exclamation mark and “Giselle…” with ellipses, the 2b company concludes its trilogy of great female figures with this narrated and sung version of Bizet’s most famous opera. Rosemary Standley’s sensitive, folk-inspired voice comes into its own in François Gremaud’s playful production.
Following his clever reinterpretations of a ballet and a theatre classic, both of which were also staged in Winterthur, the director from French-speaking Switzerland now turns his attention to a portrait of the world-famous opera heroine Carmen. Rosemary Standley, singer with the bands ‘Moriarty’ and ‘Birds on a Wire’, narrates and sings the work accompanied by a small but fine orchestra. With a single, sweeping gesture, she shares with the audience the wonder, sensitivity and power one feels when attending a performance of this operatic masterpiece. “Carmen.” captivates with its charm, deceptive simplicity and calculated playfulness.

Rollstuhlplätze
Der Theatersaal ist bedingt rollstuhlgängig. In der 18. Reihe des Theatersaals stehen Rollstuhlplätze zur Verfügung. Karten sind an der Kasse erhältlich. Die Person im Rollstuhl und die Begleitperson bezahlen je 50% des Kartenpreises der Platzkategorie III. Unser Personal ist gern behilflich, wenn die Wege zu beschwerlich sein sollten.
Hörverstärkung über Ihr persönliches Hörgerät
Beim Bau des Theaters wurde eine induktive Höranlage eingebaut. Durch Leitungen im Boden wird der Schall von der Bühne zu den Sitzen geleitet und kann dort mithilfe der persönlichen Hörgeräte empfangen werden. Allerdings sind nicht alle Plätze in den Bereich dieser Anlage miteinbezogen. Wenn Sie also ein Hörgerät tragen, dann fragen Sie beim Kauf der Theaterkarten an der Kasse nach einem Sitz mit Anschluss an die Hörgeräte-Verstärkung. Hörverstärkung über Kopfhörer Im Theater ist eine moderne Infrarot-Anlage installiert. Diese transportiert den Ton kabellos auf bequeme und leichte Kopfhörer, die Sie gegen eine Depotgebühr an der Garderobe beziehen können. Im Gegensatz zur oben erwähnten Induktionsanlage funktioniert dieses System an allen Plätzen im Saal.
