What happens when a farm becomes an art space?
What happens when a farm becomes an art space - and a field becomes a resonating space for social issues of the future? At the organic farm and cultural venue Froh Ussicht in Samstagern, run by organic farmer, artist and curator Martin Blum, Expanded Fields is a multi-year project that rethinks art, agriculture and ecological research. The first exhibition entitled ERDE/N will open on 30 August 2025.

Curated by Carole Kambli and Sabine Rusterholz Petko, EARTH/N is dedicated to the earth as the basis of life, material, symbol - and a setting for change. The participating artists work with sound, clay, compost, plants, rituals, printing techniques, performative gestures or participatory sculptures - many works intervene directly in the agricultural environment and invite people to join in.
The artists include: Gabriel Chaile, Karine Dahouindji, Lara Dâmaso, Grace Gloria Denis, Séverin Guelpa, Michael Günzburger, Tamara Henderson, Nicole L'Huillier, Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky, Hunter Longe, Darks Miranda, Caroline von Gunten as well as collaborations: Clopath x Günzburger x Hof Blum, Froh Ussicht & Willimann/Arai, Nora Hauswirth/Tera Kuno and data I commissions for parasitic* guest work with a 50-hour happening.
