Protest songs - workshop for polyphonic singing
A Saturday to sing together, understand and draw strength.
This workshop is aimed at anyone who would like to learn about protest songs from all over the world and sing them together in several voices. We combine practical singing with an immersion in the historical and social contexts of these songs of resistance.
What struggles are reflected in these songs? Who wrote them? In what situations were they sung? Through such questions, we discover how closely music, protest and solidarity are interwoven.
Singing together gives strength. It connects, moves and encourages. It brings people together in struggle - and their voices. In this workshop, we want to make this collective energy tangible: through sound, story and collective action.
Some experience in polyphonic singing is recommended - but not a prerequisite. What is important is the desire to sing together.
