Show-Off

With Show-Off, the Tanzhaus Zürich promotes local young talent. For three weeks, three groups each rehearse a short piece. These are then shown in a workshop presentation. The following artists are taking part in the 2024 edition:

Alex Ferro - Jasper and his last bits
In an undefined space, a person and chair act in changing scenes. A lifeless body awakens on an object, meaning blurs. Inspired by the satirical play language of Grammelot, the piece combines rhythm and expression, playing with movement from dance and everyday life. And offers countless interpretations.

Chloé Wanner, Lea Korner - Étincelles sous la brume
This short piece reflects inner conflicts when vision blurs and thoughts sink as if under water. Supported by Claudius Leopold's musical creation, Chloé and Lea share personal experiences of dissociation - a defence or self-protection mechanism that protects a person from overwhelming stress.

Morgane Stephan, Désirée Myriam Gnaba - YSD
The physically active body explores boundaries and plays with opposites, tensions and movement. It serves as a canvas for identity building, combined with dance and TikTok culture. In this way, people communicate not only physical strength, but also their identity in a digital world.
