Date yourself - in the new year

Four cultural tips for dates with yourself. Selected by a creative accomplice who recommends: Date yourself.

Let it out - LOUD!

How are you with singing? And belting out lyrics with your voice? At the weekly Open Space Voice Workshop, a little adventure with big sounds awaits you. Without pressure to perform. It's more about having fun and trying out your singing and acting skills, developing scenes and delving into the depths of human dramas and comedies. Sounds good, don't you think? Now you just have to dare to do it.

Lose yourself in the Engadin fog

When you're on a cinema date, you shouldn't chat during the film. It's the right thing to do. And it's much easier if you go alone. I took a look at the programme and recommend Sils Maria (Olivier Assayas, 2014) at the Xenix cinema. A film with a lot of Engadine and emotion. Juliette Binoche shines as an ageing actress who loses herself in illusions of her past and becomes Helena thanks to the perseverance of a young director (Lars Eidinger - kännsch? Great cinema!).

Listen to the wolves

Do you know the Deichkind song "In Der Natur"? Why don't you listen to it on the way to Ticino? To the Ticino Theatre in Wädenswil, of course. Because "Zum Beispiel Wölfe" will be performed there on 12 February. The play explores the question of when human alienation from nature began - and whether there is any turning back. A moving, incredibly topical play; with texts by author Julia Weber and theatre makers Mona Petri and Nils Torpus.

Seit wann fühlt sich der Mensch nicht mehr als Teil der Natur? Kam es mit dem Feuer, mit der Sprache, mit der Kunst?.

Marvel at tattoos in the museum

Are you planning to get a tattoo (again) in 2025? Either way, if you want to look at tattoos through a new lens, I recommend the INK* exhibition at the Musée Visionnaire in Niederdörfli. It's like a solo date with lots of other people's skin and a fresh look at this (artistic) form of expression on bodies. Incidentally, the exhibition also features items of clothing that have become canvases.
