90s nostalgia

To date, queer films from Sweden have conquered international screens, including the coming-out milestone "Fucking Åmål": The outsider Agnes wants nothing more than to break out of her Swedish provincial town. Nothing keeps her in the small town - until a relationship with the popular Elin suddenly develops. The sensitive story of adolescent self-discovery is shown in a restored digital version. Scream Queers

As part of a carte blanche, the NIFFF (Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival) presents a short film programme that shows fantastic film from a queer perspective: In "Don't Go Where I Can't Find You" a female composer makes contact with the dead, "Tank Fairy" forms a musical extravaganza, in "De la terreur, mes sœurs" girlfriends plot revenge and "Hideous" is a musical short film in three acts. A voyage of discovery through Sweden's queer film history

The documentary "Prejudice and Pride" takes a journey through the history of Swedish LGBT cinema. Director Eva Beling uncovers numerous queer stories and characters that have been largely ignored by the canon, using archive footage and interviews to develop a picture of a far more layered and diverse film history. In the presence of Eva Beling, the documentary will celebrate its Swiss premiere at Pink Apple. More

The original King of Rock 'n' Roll

The Closing Night is all about rock 'n' roll: The Pink Apple will close with the Swiss premiere of "Little Richard: I Am Everything". The documentary, which opened this year's Sundance Film Festival, takes us to the most important stations of the long and sometimes turbulent career of rock pioneer Little Richard. At the same time, the film explores the black and queer origins of rock 'n' roll. A homage to a (during his lifetime) misunderstood music icon. More

Ehrenpreis «Golden Apple 2023» Filme

Das Filmpodium zeigt Filme von Marco Berger, dem diesjährigen Gewinner des Ehrenpreises «Golden Apple 2023» für seine Verdienste um das queere Filmschaffen. Neben einer Retrospektive wird sein neuester Film «Los agitadores» uraufgeführt sowie «Fogo-Fátuo», das neue queer-schräge Werk des Portugiesen João Pedro Rodrigues.
